The learning experience at Camphill Wakefield focuses on building vocational and employment skills, and to complement this we are developing a Careers Provision that will support students to engage with and explore their future pathways.
The provision is being developed with and for the students, to ensure that it is accessible and understood by them.
The new provision will include: embedded Careers Education; a Careers Resource hub; support to access Advice and Guidance; and high-quality work placements for students who access our award winning
Our full careers provision document can be found here.
What students can expect
As part of each Learning Pathway, tutors will provide opportunities to focus on career progression. Students will find out about employment activities related to their chosen Pathway, and how to access these. Careers Education will also include Employer Encounters as part of the curriculum delivery, where students will either visit business premises, or take part in visits from local employers to their sessions. Each Core Group will engage with the planning for Employer Encounters, and tutors will link core learning to future career options, including signposting for access routes and pathways into employment.
Beyond Employment, the other Preparing for Adulthood Pathways will feature across the Careers Education and Information, ensuring that students with aspirations relating to the Independent Living, Friends Relationships and Community, and Good Health pathways, also receive good quality information about future opportunities.
Camphill Wakefield aims to develop a Careers Resource Hub, where students can find information about future career opportunities and options. This Hub will be run by the Careers Team and the ACE Team.
The Careers Calendar details the range of activities on offer to students and can be downloaded here.
