OBTAINING SKILLS
Students with Special Educational Needs come to Camphill Wakefield to learn the skills they need to prepare them for adult life.
As they develop their social and independence skills they will also learn ‘Real Work’ skills.
These supported experiences in a familiar environment help them prepare for off-site work placements with our trusted employer partners.
WORK EXPERIENCE
As students begin to develop their employability skills, they progress on to the ‘Experience’ part of ACE, where they have the opportunity to transfer their college-based learning into off-site work experience placements.
Our students experience catering and hospitality, retail, horticulture, animal care, residential care and estate work. The ACE team is continually sourcing and developing new and exciting placements to meet
students' needs and aspirations.
ACHIEVE PROGRAMME
‘Achieve’ focuses entirely on helping students to prepare for and achieve paid employment through a Supported Employment part- time placement.
The employer, wherever possible, is located close to the student’s home, and job coaching support and welfare rights assessments are available.
Our students are now capable of carrying out valuable paid work in their own local community, realising some of their life aspirations
